Visit Angkor Thom Metropolis, the final Khmer Empire city, then take a boat tour along the South Gate to witness floating homes, fishing fields, schools, and Tonle Sap Lake.
Study the modest farming and fishing methods used by the people of Cambodia.

ITINERARY

We will meet you in the hotel lobby at 8:00 AM to purchase the Angkor Pass directly. We then drive to the Ta Phrom Temple, which has remained in its original state, partly overgrown with trees and huge roots. It was also the location for the film Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie.

After visiting with your experienced guide, we will head to the World Heritage listed Angkor temple complex to visit one of Cambodia's treasures, the awe-inspiring Angkor Thom, a fortified fortress built by King Jayavarman VII "Royal City". 12th century. At the South Gate, we can see the magnificent statue of Guanyin that appeared in the Tomb Raider movie.

Next we will visit the Bayon Temple, Buddhist style, decorated with hundreds of stone faces, and explore the Elephant Terrace, the former Royal Palace, Phimeanakas, Leper King Terrace and the largest Hindu temple in Angkor Thom considered to be the Baphoun Temple.We will have lunch near Angkor Wat. Then we visit the enchanting Angkor Wat, the largest sacred building on earth and a symbol of Khmer civilization. It was built by King Suavarman and dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It contains hundreds of wall decorations and the longest bas-relief in the world. It is surrounded by a huge moat, its five towers are part of the Cambodian flag, and from the top you can see an impressive and dense jungle. It is the most revered in the country and an icon of the complex.

Before ending our tour, we will take a private boat tour of the Tonle Sap Lake and explore local life in a floating village where the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia is located.

Note: The best time to visit the floating village is during the rainy season, especially from August to February.

TOUR NOTE

  • Site closed: The third floor of Angkor Wat is closed during Buddhist festivals.
       When you withdraw money from an ATM with an international card, you don't get Khmer Riel, only USD, and it's accepted anywhere in Cambodia except coins and old banknotes.
       Using your own charger, you can charge your camera or phone in the restaurant during your lunch break.
       Smoking, drinking or touching the carvings is prohibited in and around the temple.

  • Dress Code: Both male and female visitors to temples are required to present themselves in a dignified and comfortable manner. We strongly advise wearing modest apparel.
    This refers to attire that covers your knees and shoulders.
    In the mostly hot Asian environment, loose, lightweight, long clothing is both courteous and cool.
    It is essential to wear comfy shoes.
    If visitors arrive at the park wearing attire that is deemed inappropriate, the Apsara Authority, which oversees the park, maintains the power to deny admission to such portions of the property.



     

WHAT TO BRING

  • It can get exceptionally blistering strolling around the Angkor complex so make certain to continuously convey water and fitting skin insurance including sun shout and mosquito shower. You can purchase sun shout and mosquito splash around.
